DropFunnels Software Review 2023

What is DropFunnels?

DropFunnels is a software that is designed to help businesses create and manage their websites, landing pages, blog and sales funnels all in one place. It is a powerful tool that simplifies the process of building and optimizing websites and helps businesses increase conversions and drive sales.

DropFunnels is a software that I really love, (I’m actually a DropFunnels Certified Expert) but I only use it for about half my clients. It’s not for everyone.

In this article, I’m going to walk through all the features that DropFunnels offers and then talk  through what I love and what I don’t like so you can decide if DropFunnels is right for your business or not.

DropFunnels Features

DropFunnels Boasts a TON of features. The rabbit hole is deep. It can’t do everything, (it has a few significant limitations that we’ll go over below) but it can do a lot. Some of the software features include:

  • Drag and drop, no code, editor
  • E-Courses and Membership Sites
  • Sales Funnels
  • Subscriptions
  • Automatic SMS marketing
  • Wordpress SEO with built in SEO features
  • Fast pages
  • Unlimited pages, products and funnels
  • Blog
  • Opt in forms and popups
  • Email marketing integrations
  • Zapier integrations
  • Website and Funnel Templates

As you can see, there are enough features there to keep the average business going for a long time.

Pros of DropFunnels – DropFunnels Review

The things I love about DropFunnels

The Replicability.  This has to be my favorite thing about DropFunnels and the reason I use the software whenever I can. In DropFunnels, EVERYTHING is able to be copied. Love that button you just designed? Turn it into it’s own module and drag and drop it in everywhere you need it. Have a section that you use all over your website? (i.e. your contact form or call booking form) save it and drag and drop it in. Want to make edits on something once and have that edit show up everywhere? Make it a global design. Want to copy an ENTIRE website, e-course, or funnel? It takes about 10 seconds. I love this. It saves me so much time.

They are always looking to improve. This company is trying to be the best business web solution in the world which means they are constantly working to make their product better. I love using software from companies that are pushing forward aggressively because I know that the software will always be getting better and that has been my experience of this software as a long time user.

The Sales Funnels. When you put the word “Funnels” in the name of your software you better be good at sales funnels and DropFunnels doesn’t disappoint. The funnels are where DropFunnels really excels. Create an opt-in page and the software will carry the customer info over to the checkout so they don’t have to enter it again. Collect payment info and then increase the customer value with as many upsells and down sells as you’d like and all the customer has to do is click the button. Design simple or comprehensive customer journeys. The possibilities are endless.

DropFunnels Review Funnel FlowThe Wordpress Based SEO. This is a huge selling point for me because I love SEO and I get so frustrated at software that is simple and quick but then has terrible SEO. (I’m looking at you, Wix). Wordpress is the best for SEO and DropFunnels makes it simple. They have an SEO checker built into to their software so know you’re checking all the right boxes. It also has better SEO than something like ClickFunnels because it doesn’t have multiple redirects like ClickFunnels does.

The Automation. Pipelines, and Funnels, and Opt-Ins oh my! If you know anything about me, you know that automated business systems are my jam. I love the automation built in to DropFunnels. You really can put your full marketing campaign on autopilot. The funnels are all automated so the customer can go on a full purchasing journey without you needing to be involved. They have automated SMS texting built in and they can be triggered by actions in Funnels. It also integrates seamlessly with Zapier which allows you to integrate and automate with thousands of other softwares.

DropFunnels Review SMS PipelineLess tech headaches. There are no themes, plugins, manual PHP updates, or server changes with DropFunnels. I’ll get into what I don’t like about this fact in the Cons section, but the amazing part about this is you have less tech headaches. Wordpress sites have a tendency to crash occasionally because when you put themes and plugins and PHP versions altogether you get issues. DropFunnels eliminated this by eliminating plugins. DropFunnels sites also require less maintenance than a normal Wordpress site because all the updates are handled by their tech team and then rolled out to their users. With Wordpress, you have to manually update everything.

Page Speed. DropFunnels has done a lot of work to make their website pages and funnels load super quickly which is really important for SEO and user experience.

The Mobile Editor. The Mobile Editor is something I didn’t discover until about a year into using DropFunnels and it is a GAME CHANGER. If you hit the “R” key on your keyboard while you’re in the editor it will show a mobile/tablet version of your page and allow you to make very precise edits to each module to make it look amazing on any screen size. The level of customizations that you can do for each module and each screen size is really unmatched.

Cons of DropFunnels – DropFunnels Review

All of that being said, there are still some downsides to this software which is why I use for a lot of my clients, but not all of them.

The things I DON’T love about DropFunnels

A lack of site-wide standardized design. As a designer, I recognize the importance of consistency in branding and look and DropFunnels doesn’t make that consistency super easy. They do actually have a place where you can setup your site-wide fonts and colors as defaults, but in my experience, it doesn’t work that well and I still have to manually change every single text module to the font that I want. I would love it if everything defaulted to my branding and I only had to edit it in the rare situations I needed something different. I lose a lot of time tweaking the designs of things that really should be standard.

Learning Curve. The DropFunnels learning curve is STEEP. This is especially frustrating because one of DropFunnels big marketing points is that it’s user friendly. I’ve talked with a lot of people who subscribe to DropFunnels but then don’t use it for months because the setup is just too confusing. I’ve been a professional Wordpress web-designer for 6+ years and learning DropFunnels still took me a long time. It is a no code solution but it is not the easiest low code solution on the market.

No ability to customize with plugins. I was excited when I saw that DropFunnels was built on Wordpress because I thought I would be able to use my own plugins. You can’t. I understand why they don’t allow that because where there are plugins, things break, but this is the biggest thing that keeps me from switching over to DropFunnels completely. the base functionality of DropFunnels is great but very often I have clients coming to me because they have a very specific systems problem they’re trying to solve or a very specific thing they’re trying to accomplish. Without the ability to customize the platform I usually need to use Wordpress not DropFunnels to make that happen.

Cost: DropFunnels is a subscription-based service, which means that users have to pay a monthly fee to access the software. While the pricing plans are reasonable, they may not be suitable for businesses on a tight budget.

The Drag and Drop Editor Speed. The pages load fast, but because it has to show a preview of everything you’re doing, the editor moves slowly. This is frustrating when you have a lot to do in a short amount of time which you probably do as a business owner. Because of the amazing “copy & paste” type features I talked about above it makes up for it, but I look forward to the day that the editor gets faster.

Summary

Overall, DropFunnels is an incredible software that I use personally and use for many of my clients for e-courses, funnels, and websites. I love the replicability, and the ease of use once you finally learn to speak the language. The learning curve is frustrating, but once you get over it, the functionality is amazing. Overall, I recommend DropFunnels to anyone who is ready to really take their business marketing seriously and take the time to build their marketing right.
